Chatsworth House is still the home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. It offers something for everyone to enjoy, from famous works of art and spectacular fountains in the garden to the finest shopping food and drink and many miles of free walks.
Haddon Hall the historic home of Bess of Hardwick is a splendid example of a Tudor manor house situated only a few miles away from Chatsworth. It too, has beautifully romantic gardens for you to while away a sunny afternoon.
Buxton and Matlock Bath both famous for their Victorian spas and beautiful settings are a short distance away. Buxton is famous for its Opera House and Pavilion Gardens. Whilst in Matlock Bath, why not visit the Heights of Abraham and enjoy it’s spectacularly breath taking views. Or take the children for a day out at Gulliver’s Kingdom.
Ashbourne, Bakewell and Leek are all still busy market towns, Bakewell still holds it’s busy livestock market on a Monday attracting visitors regularly, don’t forget to try the famous Bakewell puddings!. Leek is bursting at the seams with pine furniture shops and antique emporiums. Our local towns have so much to offer.
Why not enjoy one of the many picturesque walks right from the doorstep. Biggin Dale, Beresford Dale, Wolfscote Dale, Dove Dale. Or maybe take a guided walk with a Peak Park Ranger.
The newly established Route 54 cycle way passes straight by our door, connecting the Manifold Valley Trail to the Tissington Trail and High Peak Trail.
